A 14-year-old student was stabbed in the parking lot of George W. Fowler High School this morning, sources say.
At about 8 a.m. this morning a student was stabbed in the chest. According to Syracuse police the boy was transported to Upstate University Hospital with injuries considered life-threatening. He is listed in serious condition.
Syracuse City School District issued the following statement:
“This morning, prior to the start of school at the Public Service Leadership Academy at Fowler (PSLA) there was an altercation outside of the school where one student was stabbed. The incident took place at the far end of the parking lot adjacent to the corner of Seymour St. and S. Wilbur Ave. One of the students involved is currently serving a one year suspension from school which forbids him from being in any school building. No other information is available at this time. We are continuing to work with the Syracuse Police Department as the investigation continues.”
The victim’s name has not been released.
