City to Hold First in Series of Events at Perseverance Park

By Staff

perseveranceparkThe city has announced it will hold its first “Playdate in the Park,” in downtown’s Perseverance Park and the former Commons Center Plaza June 10.

According to officials, this will be the first in a series of several events the city will hold in the park, in order to engage citizens in the area.

The first event will take place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, and activities will include lawn games like giant checkers and putt-putt golf.

Recently, Perseverance Park has been slated for a major overhaul, and last year the Syracuse Urban Renewal Agency (SURA) awarded !melk urban design and Balmond Studio an RFP for design and construction of a new public space concept at the site.

Check back for updates regarding future events at the park.
