Dean Skelos and Son Found Guilty on Eight Charges of Corruption

Former Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos

Former New York State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and his son, Adam, have been found guilty on eight charges of corruption, including bribery, extortion and conspiracy.

Prosecutors accused Skelos of using his political influence to arrange jobs for his son, who was charged with aiding and abetting his father in the scheme.

Skelos and his son will face up to 130 years in prison when they face Judge Kimba Wood for sentencing early next year – similarly to former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, following his conviction on corruption charges last month.
