fowler conferenceSyracuse police said they’ve found the body of 21-month-old Maddoxx Lawrence, a baby who had been missing since Saturday, at a press conference Tuesday.

Maddox and her father, Ryan Lawrence, reportedly disappeared from a Syracuse residence Saturday evening, after Lawrence left a written message saying he intended to harm himself, and possibly his daughter, according to an Amber Alert released Sunday.

Authorities located Lawrence, 24, and took him into custody Monday, after receiving a tip from someone who said they’d seen a man fitting his description in Baldwinsville.

Police have since confirmed they’ve located the baby’s remains in Onondaga Creek, near Destiny USA.

“It’s tough to be standing here at this podium,” Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler stated. “For everyone who worked this case, it’s difficult.”

According to Fowler, Lawrence will be arraigned in City Court Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m.

Fowler also said there were additional details he had been unable to share regarding the case, since the investigation is still ongoing. However, law enforcement officials said they do not currently have any other suspects involved in the case.

Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said Lawrence has currently been charged with second-degree murder, and that he will personally prosecute the case himself.
