GOP Chooses Flanagan to Replace Skelos

Senator John FlanaganNew York State Sen. John Flanagan (R – Suffolk County) will be the new Senate Majority Leader, according to reports, following the oust of former GOP conference president Dean Skelos (R-Nassau County), after Skelos and his son’s May 4 arrest on federal corruption charges.

Flanagan, 54, will reportedly hold a press conference in the GOP conference room next to the Senate chamber May 11 to confirm his appointment.
