Officials said they raised a total of $261,845, overall, at the gala.
In addition, Keybank has donated $500,000 to the program so far, which has provided 2,000 Syracuse City School District students with scholarships to attend college.
“This impressive fundraising total shows that the entire Syracuse community is dedicated to making Say Yes to Education a success,” Mayor Stephanie Miner stated. “With over 2,000 Syracuse City School District students having attended college with scholarships already, we are seeing the fruits of this program in our city each and every day. This program is a generational catalyst needed to help alleviate poverty and grow our economy.”
The city sold over 200 tickets o the event, ranging from $100 to $500, which was sponsored by IBEW Local 43 and POMCO.
Additionally, Dick Ford of Signature Music provided entertainment for the event, and American Food and Vending catered the gala.
