Office For the Aging Seeks Input at Community Forums

Vision local agingOnondaga County’s Office for the Aging will hold its annual public hearings Monday, Oct. 26, at 1:00 pm in the Westcott Community Center, 826 Euclid Ave., and Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 1:00 pm, in the Camillus Senior Center, 25 1/2 First St., Camillus, county officials stated.

The office is seeking the public’s feedback regarding the county’s current programs and services, in order to develop its 2016 Service Plan. 

As a result, the office has requested input regarding the following topics:

  • What are the most pressing concerns for older adults?
  • Are you familiar with the Office for Aging’s services?
  • How can we better meet the needs of our seniors?
  • What new programs, or services, are needed?

Officials said individuals interested in attending should call (315) 435-2362, ext. 4945, if special accommodations are required. In addition, light refreshments will be served.

Individuals who are interested in commenting on the plan, but may be unable to attend the event, will also be able access a copy of the plan at www.ongov.net/agingor call  (315) 435-2362 in order to request a copy. 

The office will also accept comments regarding the plan emailed to cherrylamb@ongov.net, with ” PLAN2016″ in the subject line, or faxed to: (315) 435-3129, attention: Lisa D. Alford. Written comments must be received by no later than Nov. 13.
