Onondaga County Office for Aging to Host 2018 Celebration Luncheon

By Staff –

2018SeniorCelebrationLuncheonFlyer_000Onondaga County Office for Aging has announced its 2018 Celebration Luncheon for Onondaga County Seniors will take place Thursday, May 10, at Drumlins Country Club, 800 Nottingham Rd.

The luncheon will begin promptly at 12 p.m.

“The goal of the Office for Aging is to assist seniors and caregivers by providing the programs and services that older adults need to live independently,” Pete Headd, the agency’s deputy commissioner and executive director, stated. “We find that Onondaga County seniors long to remain integral members of our community, helping others with their knowledge and their time. The theme of Older American’s Month this year is “Engage at Every Age,” and we believe that statement accurately describes those we are honored to serve each day, and also celebrate at this yearly event.”

The program will celebrate May as national “Older Americans Month, as well as honor Onondaga County’s “Senior Citizen of the Year,” Dorothy L. White, along with additional “Serving Seniors” honorees, officials said.

The event will also feature a menu that includes Chicken Breast Milanaise or Vegetable Lasagna. The cost of the meal is $5.

Seniors, age 60 or older, and their guests, must register for the event by Friday, May 4

Checks can be made payable to Onondaga County Elders, Inc., and should accompany the registration form.

Call 315-435-2362, ext. 4945, or visit, to register or for additional information regarding the event.
