Syracuse Airport Announces Grand Opening of Johnny Rockets

By Staff

syrair Syracuse Hancock International Airport, and Creative Food Group LLC, have announced the grand opening of Johnny Rockets will be held April 21, post-security in the north terminal, next to eSavvy tech shop.

Since Creative Food Group took over the airport’s concession contract last year, Johnny Rockets will be the second to last concession location to be added to the airport, officials stated.

“Having saved one of the best locations for last, we are very excited to have a Johnny Rockets restaurant at the airport,” Christina Callahan, the airport’s executive director, said. “This newest location is a great compliment to the number of new restaurants.”

A press release described the restaurant as being an “all-American” with a menu consisting of classics such as made-to-order burgers, crispy fries, and hand-spun shakes.

In addition, officials said Johnny Rockets will be able to serve customers in 15 to 20 minutes, and will have an accessible terminal on either side, with an “all departures” monitor in a central location to help passengers keep track of flights.

“In recent years, we have seen an increased interest in Johnny Rockets restaurants in non-traditional venues, whether that be airports or entertainment venues, like Six Flags or casinos,” said the restaurant chain’s president of operations and development, James Walker. “To meet the consumer demand, we have revitalized our designs and added new prototypes to fit different footprints. The Johnny Rockets restaurant at the Syracuse International Airport will offer a reduced menu of our best-in-class burgers and fries, as well as offer take-out for travelers on the go.”

Officials said the restaurant will be the largest food and beverage provider in the airport, with the capacity to serve between 40 to 50 guests.
