Syracuse Regional Airport Authority Executive Director Christina Callahan has recently been awarded “certified member” status by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
This status is given to members who pass the Certified Member exam.
According to the airport, the purpose of the exam is to document that airport professionals have mastered the bodies of knowledge essential to carrying out management responsibilities.
Officials said the exam covers areas an airport manager should have a solid working knowledge of, including airport finance and administration, planning, construction and environmental airport operations, security and maintenance, communications, legislative affairs, air service development and community relations.
The program represents one’s dedication to obtain knowledge and achieve the highest level of professionalism the industry has to offer, officials stated.
