WCNY Accepting Nominations for Annual “Women Who Make America Awards”

wcny logoWCNY Public Media has announced it’s accepting nominations for its 4th Annual “Makers: Women Who Make America Awards,” now through Jan 10, 2016.

The awards will “honor remarkable women who are game-changers in any field,” the organization’s website stated.

In addition, “Across Central New York, women are making remarkable contributions to our community,” Robert Daino, WCNY’s president and CEO, said. “WCNY is honored to share their stories, using our multimedia platforms—TV, radio, web, print, and social media—to reach and inspire others.”

Nominations may be submitted from counties including Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Jeerson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Oswego, Otsego, Schuyler, Seneca, Tompkins, Wayne, and Yates. Nominees must be 18 or older.

According to WCNY officials, the organization will also accept nominations mailed to: WCNY, Attn: Education Department, P.O. Box 2400, Syracuse, NY 13220-2400, or via email to education@wcny.org.

WCNY will announce the honorees March 4, 2016, at a ceremony in the Women’s Rights National Historical Park, in Seneca Falls. The winners will also be featured on WCNY’s website, social media, radio, television, and in WCNY CONNECT magazine, according to officials.
