City Parks Host Second Annual Mile Marketplace on Sep. 23 at the Creekwalk
The City of Syracuse Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host its second annual Mile Marketplace on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. along the Creekwalk, beginning at the Hunt Ave trailhead.
This event features an outdoor market highlighting the newest section of the Onondaga Creekwalk as it passes through Kirk Park on the city’s South Side.
It is also expected to feature vendor booths representing local artisans, crafters, food trucks, small business, and non-profit agencies while promoting wellness with activities throughout the day.
A showcase of local youth DJs, coordinated by DJ Bella J of On the One DJ Center will be presented and shall run throughout the entire event.
Schedule of events:
10 to 10:30 a.m.: Yoga
10:30 to 11 a.m.: Tree pruning demo with Onondaga Earth Corps
11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Tree ID walk with Forestry Team
12 to 12:30 p.m.: Zumba
12:30 to 1 p.m.: Tree pruning demo with Onondaga Earth Corps
1 to 2 p.m.: Tree ID walk with Forestry Team
2 to 2:30 p.m.: Yoga
2:30 to 3 p.m.: Zumba
DPR will host a free Yard Tree Giveaway for property owners in the city of Syracuse. City of Syracuse property owners are eligible to receive up to two trees per address to plant in their yards. On-street parking is available along Hunt Avenue and Onondaga Creek Parkway. Accessible parking is available in the Hunt Avenue trailhead parking lot.
