RFP Is Announced by City for Use of NYS Opioid Settlement Relief Funds
The City of Syracuse Department of Neighborhood and Business Development issued a request seeking proposals (RFP) for the use of its Opioid Settlement Relief (OSR) funds awarded through the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports.
Funds are available to agencies who work with individuals suffering from opioid abuse in the City of Syracuse and provide prevention and treatment strategies.
The city’s RFP opened on Aug. 10, 2023 and will close on Oct. 3, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
City officials say Syracuse recently received its first disbursement of $1.1 million in OSR funds from pharmaceutical company settlements to invest in projects and programs that address the effects the opioid epidemic has had in the Syracuse community.
Any questions about the RFP application / process must be received by Sep. 19, 2023.
According to the city, the goal of the RFP is to use the OSR funds specifically for treatment and prevention programs that are innovative, use evidence-based approaches to change, address the root cause of this crisis and support with dignity our community members living with and/or recovering from substance abuse disorders.
